1070 TI Reference hitting 90

I have a 1070 TI reference that gets extremely hot during games. I have a Phanteks p400s case with 2 front intake fans, top intake and of course rear exhaust fan. Within minutes it hits 90c and throttles down to 1923mhz core and 4374mhz memory. I have the card overclocked to 120% power, temp limit is 92c, Core is +200 and memory is +375. Is this normal for a reference card?

 

Tried running the card at stock speeds and no OC and still hits around 86c

Yeah blower style coolers suck. Try changing the fan curve

I was lucky enough to snag one at MSRP of $450 about a month ago. Thinking of trying to change to fan style. But if it’s normal to run that hot I guess it’s fine. I game with headphones on so doesn’t bother me

My 1080’s never seen those temps. I’m not afraid to turn my fans up though.

RIP my man, it's the case. I have the same one and my Windforce 970 was hitting up to 85C. 

I couldn't stand seeing those temps so a week ago I did this.

Now with two added 140mm top exhaust fans I'm pretty much staying at around 70C.

Maybe see if one of EVGA's Hybrid coolers will fit the reference 1070ti.  They sell the cooler separately and installation is super easy.
