Virtualized guest computer

Hello all -

So I came up with the idea that instead of buying and setting up some used rig for my guest room (maybe an old Dell optiplex or something) to be used as a guest computer for basic tasks such as word processing, email, watching YT, etc., I was thinking maybe I could create a VM on my main rig and it would be linked over the network using just a keyboard mouse and monitor. The guest OS (maybe Elementary OS or Linux Mint for ease of use) is entirely locked in and cannot be used to see/modify my host drive, delete my own files, etc.

Is this possible?? If so how would I go about setting it up?

The Virtualization software I use is Virtualbox.

tanks *thumbs up*

Just buy a cheap laptop or one of the $99 windows tablets. Though doesn't everyone just have a cellphone to do that stuff nowadays?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...
