Hello All,

Today i just got my new components in for a new build,

Asus H370-i

I7 8700

Corsair vengeance 2666mhz 16gb (2x8gb kit)

samsung 960 evo 250GB

Corsair 600w SFX

GTX 1070 Asus turbo

Older WD 240gb SSD green.

I finished building just before noon, and now it 2.30 in the morning unable to boot.

I was going to install windows 7 as i had a spare key, after some troubleshooting and google i realized i had no usb 2.0 ports. SO i decided it was a good time to up grade to windows 10, I tried to install the os to the 960 evo and got error code 0xc00021a. Dissable safe boot buy removing keys, made sure to enable everything. so i tried again same same thing. tried a different iso same thing. I gave the diskpart ago and then revived error code 0x80070570. Did some more googling and gave memtest ago, did 6 passes with no error.

Next i tried to flash the bios, i used version 0614, 0612, 0606 and every time i tried "selected file is not a proper bios".

If im doing something stupid please let me know. im pulling my hair out over this.

Many thanks,

Tim.c

How did you make the installer, its probably a bad installer.

Agreed, the best way to make a Windows 10 install disk is to use the Windows Media Creation Tool.

i think he didnt even do that, just did win7 to win10 upgrade, which is kinda asking for a 21a bsod as that is based on

STOP: 0xC000021A

Cause

This error occurs when a user-mode subsystem, such as WinLogon or the Client Server Run-Time Subsystem (CSRSS), has been fatally compromised and security can no longer be guaranteed. In response, the operating system switches to kernel mode. Microsoft Windows cannot run without WinLogon or CSRSS. Therefore, this is one of the few cases where the failure of a user-mode service can shut down the system.

, probably upgraded to windows 10, but it tried loading in a windows 7 chipset driver or smt and failed ( example )

possible boot fix  = disable driver signature enforcement

if that doesnt work, make sure its a clean install , with the entire disk formatted, because windows requires a clean partition to be made in general, because it creates a hidden parittion for system files ( usually doesnt cause an problem but it can )
