First you can take emergency action to avoid the data losing or reduce the data lost to the least as follows:

1) Get out your phone from the water ASAP, and remove and battery and take out the SIM card to reduce the loss or damage on the device;

2) Don't move or shake the phone frequently, so that the water will not run around your mobile phone inside;

3) Wrap the device with cloth or handkerchief for a few minutes, and then turn off your phone, and place it into a jar or a bag filled with rice for a couple of days.

Next time,back up all the data on the phone to avoid such case.

I put it in a bag of rice for a week and it turns on now but the lcd is still weird.

 If you're lucky, you may find all things are kept well here. But if you find something important are lost, don't worry, you can ask for help from MobiKin Doctor for Android .

It could be the best Android Data Recovery software, which can help you recover deleted, or lost files like contacts, messages, photos, music, videos, call logs, etc. on Android phone or tablets due to any reasons. And it will show you both deleted and exiting data on your Android device for your reference.

If there is something wrong on your water damaged Android phone, such as black screen, non-responsive screen or you cannot touch the screen and so on, you can follow the below guide to fix these issues and extract the existing data from Android as you like. But here, you need to download and install a program called Broken Android Data Extraction. With it, you can get access to a damaged Android without locking the screen or enabling USB debugging.

I just gave up. I miss Huawei's software and hate some of LG's shit software; I left it for almost 1 month in my garage were it gets pretty toasty but not as toast as direct sunlight, and it still does not fully function. The LCD backlight appears to turn on and it vibrates when I try to turn it on, but nothing else happens, except for a constant red light in the notification light. Now sporting an LG G6. BTW I just noticed that the forum's font looks different.
