So you have 1000 to spend on parts besides these?

If at first you don't succeed...

Call it version 1.0

What RAM is it? If it's DDR3, You won't be able to reuse it on a modern platform.

Don't recommend Kaby. For anything. Cheaper Coffee or Ryzen CPUs will perform the same or better. The 7700K also doesn't come with a cooler, which you'll have to add to the price. And a $140 locked motherboard just doesn't make sense.

:)

True, I'm pretty sure he has a CPU cooler though.

Okay so here is an Intel build i put there 1070 in case you can stretch your budget a little bit(selling old ram sticks). If it wont be possible try getting 1060 6gb version. If you want to go AMD just swap cpu/mb for ryzen 5 1600/asrock ab350 pro4. New amd cpus are coming out soon if you do not mind waiting. I also highly recommend changing your psu. It has its age and it is not the best psu.
