my down speed is much higher before but my upload speed is at the stated speed. how can i work around this?

hmm... the last time i remember i was at a plan of 1MB or 1.5 MB

There is a chance that during peak hours in your area they are just throttling everyone. I know my ISP does that for me in my area.

Do you have a data cap, and did you do this during a busy time of day (usually noon or around 5-9 P.M.)?

Its actually midnight currently in my place >.>

also how can i remove this "throttling"? can i just change ISP?

also im using DSL and the only DSL in my country.

When 2 things meet each other, Quantum stuff happens.

I don't believe you can stop them from throttling you. What I would do is call your ISP and have them send you a fresh signal to see if that helps and also ask them why you are getting lower speeds than what you are paying for.

 

It can sometimes be your modem that is not getting the sufficient signal strength in needs. This could be casued by a bad cable or just modem itself.

 

That happened to me a couple years ago and Time Warner had to come and fix the cabling in my house.
