So in short overkilling my psu is not good for the system?  Some computer tech in a computer shop recomended a 750w psu true rated but cant remember the brand cost sometbing like 127usd i doubt in it and they said my psu is shortingnin power thats why my pc shuts off on high settings. So thats where my conclusion comefrom for investing for higher psu watts.

you can run a 50KW PSU for all you want, the system wont draw more than it needs. its just that good quality units at high wattage cost more.

And another thing i replaced my psu with EVGA 650w GQ  so it runs smooth when i installed it but when i play on medium settings on pubg it happens again the auto shutoff. But in  bemchmarking with ultra settings is fine with 5h straight

thats a decent unit, bit overkill on the wattage but whatever

I  saw this also in my mobo cpu slot pins. Some of pins are bent like 4 or 5 pieces of it and ithink some piece are misaing like 2 pieces and i tried bending the unaligned pins back to normal tried like linus techtips did long ago in his previous YT video and still same maybe this is the culprit of my unexpected pc shutoff?

Please help i dont wanna waste money on my next purchase of which is which will be replace. Thankyou

well if you have bent and missing pins then thats the problem, you need a new motherboard if there are ones broken off

Hi all i just want to ask here since iknow theres alot of computer geeks and experts here so first i encountered this problem like a month ago  when i was in game Tera online my pc just went shut off without any warnings or turning off  message its just went off and goes ON after 3 seconds and start booting up again.

My suspect issue here is the PSU

I did stress test in my PSU i tried ultra settings and ultra high res and it instantly went off after some seconds

I tried low and med settings its abit ok in that iguess but i encounter some problem when i play pubg it can only last for some HOUR before the problem occurs again so yeah thats it. I cant change the settings to med or higher because of this and cant play continuosly

Maybe the PSU cant support the GPU anymore? But ive been running this setup with 3 years already and went ok but this

time it suddenly had a problem.

SPECS:

MObO: MSI Z87 G45

Processor: i3 4130

RAM: 8gb

GPU: MSI gtx 950 gaming 2g

PSU: corsair 550w

Thanks

well without anything further than Corsair 550W as the PSU name i cant say if its a crappy or decent unit. before you replace anything you should check every cable connection at both ends too

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Well the VS units aren't great from what I recall, but make sure everything is seated right before you buy something new. Re seating the CPU can help with seemingly unrelated issues and as I said also check all ty power cables to everything

anything from teir 3 and up on that list, you only need a 400W PSU if even that. definatly dont go for a cheapo 800W, PSUs can take the entire system with them when they die so you dont want to cheap out on them and you in absolutly no way need the 800W that PSU claims it can output, which i doubt it can

This pretty much. Your PSU should be able to power your system just fine and if the issue happens with another PSU than it pretty much clears your current PSU as the culprit.

If your mobo has bent pins, then they could be not making connection properly. Some chipsets do have missing pins in the design but it sounds like yours may be missing a bit more than originally intended.
