New processor

So I’m saving up to get a new processor for my new build, I’m planning on getting the ryzen 5 1600x but I’ve heard that ryzen 2.0 is around the corner so should o wait for the ryzen 5 2600x or buy the 1600x now? (Getting an x model since I already have an AIO cooler)

Wait, it will not be very long. And get the 1600 unless you already have an AIO or something.

X models arent worth considering when non-X ones exist. They overclock to roughly the same frequency.

I would wait a bit, even if not planning to get Ryzen 2.0 you might be able to get the 1600x for a cheaper price.

still, no point for the 1600x (2600x could be binned, idk). 1600x was more overclockable than the 1600 at first launch, but not so much now.

So getting the non x model will be the same as getting the x model but with a stock cooler?

I would wait, Ryzen 2 is going to have much better proformance than ryzen 1

Time will tell... 2600x/2700x leaks only show overclock up to 4.3GHz all cores atm, so who knows whether non-X models will overclock better than current chips, even.
