Need some help really bad.

Just bought a Rift with the controllers and everything but for some damn reason, the OculusSetup.exe application won't run for me... At all. It just crashes right after I run it, doesn't show any window or any error, just a windows error message. I checked the log files, all looks fine, nothing shows an error. I've tried all the generic trouble shooting methods like running as admin or moving the file somewhere else, even re-downloading the file, trying other setup files. I also tried changing my "program files" folder attributes to make them not "read only" as one user recommended (if you get what I'm trying to say).

I'm at a loss and their support isn't getting back to me, nor are their forums.

It's been 4 days...

Return the Rift and get a Vive? Maybe?

Check Device Manager to see if the Rift hardware shows up.

I would contact their support again (also check your spam folder for any Oculus messages). If they don't get back to you within the next two days, just return the headset.

Yeah I work in policing and I really don't have the time or patience when I come home to deal with shit like that, and I got the oculus because it looks better and just feels a little better for me too. I know the Vive would be better in functionality at this point but that's not why I got it and the option of return was already discussed.

And checking the task manager does indeed show the application running momentarily until crash, it's system utilization looks normal for an install application and there are no suspicious spikes in usage before crash. Also I have not received any reply still from support, not even in my junk folder. I'll try another support ticket.
