High Ping, Please Help

Ive been having super high ping during the day recently. 90-120 but then spiking to 200 a lot of the time. on speed test ive been getting results from 80-100+ or 30 at times.

 

Now that its 1am i have 19 ping on speed test.

I have only been able to play games with good ping during the night. I was thinking maybe its because the kids are on their school holiday but i have no idea. Pretty frustrating as all my friends go to bed at normie times so we dont really get to play because my ping is so bad.

 

Is there anything i can do to fix this please or should i just keep contacting my ISP?

Sounds like your speeds getting throttled down due to the amount of traffic. I use to have this happen with Comcast and after we switched to Verizon we had much better speeds.

Don't think your ISP could, or would do anything about it. It's just congested infrastructure.

 

Just like you can't call the government if there's a traffic jam during rush hour, calling the ISPs wouldn't really make sense or help much.

its only been like this the last 2 weeks though. ive been with them over a year.

Could be an over sold node. If you have internet thru a cable company they could have over sold the node. Meaning the amount of people connected to the node is more than the Fiber from the node to the ISP can support. At night less people are probably using less internet, and more bandwidth is available.

This has happened to me in the past. I'm sure it's a bandwidth limitation.

i wish  i had fibre but i have WiMax i think its called. fixed antenna on the roof.

Oh, yeah, then your screwed even more. My guess is the tower your connected to is over sold. Just like with cable internet, each tower is like a node. They are connected to the internet via Fiber in most cases. The more people connected and using the more the service suffer.
