Yeah. I want to build a new pc, because im still rocking a 10 year old dell xps 420. Then again, it can still run crysis 3 at 8k, max settings, 200 fps. So no need to complain.

But seriously, i currently have a 480gb sandisk ssd installed. Ive got like 11gb left on it, and im building a new pc in july. Ill obviously restore the ssd though.

I was also interested in getting a 250gb 960 evo alongside a 120gb ssd for my os. Though, im unsure if windows 10 will even take up 50 gbs in the first place.

So yeah. And, if there is one, is there a ssd thats roughly the size of windows 10? Or, what would you recommend? Im kind of in a predicament here.

Thanks :)

I would use the 480GB SSD for a boot and essentials drive and then grab a 2TB HDD for mass storage of games that don't really need the power of an SSD. Windows itself takes up maybe 40GB to 50GB of space, worst case, so technically you could get away with less than a 120 but with updates and other changes I wouldn't feel comfortable with less.

Its between like 40 and 50gb IIRC, but you will need to account for future patches/updates/features etc... best to play 60 to be safe.

What about the 250gb nvme? I cant really be slowed down by a hardrive because of the work i do

But i will be getting a harddrive down the line for all the files i need to dump somewhere haha

250GB NVME would be great for windows and have enough space left over for some other programs and games too

I'd go with 120gb just so you could put some essential programs there as well. But I don't think you can find anything decent that would be under 100gb. Unless you go few years back when you could purchase 32gb SSDs. But those first generations weren't as reliable.

Okie. I was thinking of saving a bit of money, but not really a smart decision haha.

I remember when 32gb ssds were like 100 bucks

Just don't cheap out on storage if you want reliability. Samsung EVO is a way to go or Kingston to save a few bucks.

And besides, for $100 you can get 250gb nowadays.
