Does anyone know any good virus protection software for windows. I am willing to spend money but not a million dollars. Any suggestions?

Windows Defender works great for the moment. Just don't visit shady websites.

Well if you must, Kaspersky is top notch.

Personally wouldn't recommend Kaspersky. I use Avast (free) and Malwarebytes (its pretty cheap compared to any other antivirus). Malwarebytes is probably one of the best at staying up to date with the latest threats.

They all, *all* suck.

Hard.

AV is not your first line of defense. It's your last line of defense, when everything else has failed, you *hope* AV will catch something.

Here's how to solve the virus issue for good

(1) Run heavy ad-blockers on your browser. uBlock Origin, Ghostery, Flashcontrol, Decentraleyes, HTTP Everywhere.

(2) Run as a limited user.

(3) Don't download random shit off the internet. If you have to do that, spin up a VM and do it there.

(4) Run a real-time malware scanner, like superantispyware or malwarebytes.

(5) dump AV scanner because it's not needed.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

if you're actually willing to pay for a good anti-virus, look into getting ESET Nod32
