Yeah, but I mean regardless you're limited to the speed of the drive, in this case 5400rpm

i was just wondering if the usb 3.0 might bottleneck it but i do understand that the speed will always hold it back

I don't really think that the performance difference would be that big in the first place, to the point where usb 3.0 would be considered a "bottleneck"

Yeah i'd say your best bet is just moving the hard drive into your case, that way there is no chance of a usb cable getting bump or coming unplugged and interrupting your transfer :) Plus slightly fast speed

Transfer speeds shouldn't be bottlenecked but access times and such will have added latency from the usb 3.0 adapter.
