Next Nvidia cards?

Anyone know when the next Nvidia cards will come out? I have read on several sources (such as: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2018/02/26/nvidia-ampere-graphics-cards-release-date-rumour/) that the new cards are soon to come out. Before I freak out I was wondering if anyone knew anything else before I buy the year old 1080 Ti

2-3 months is what's expected as that's when GDDR6 becomes available and Nvidia are the only one's using it.

NVIDIA has typically launched a new series at some major conference, like Computex or the one in Germany (I forget which that is). If only so they can spill all the juicy details about it.

Buy the 1080 ti. The new 1180 most likely won't be stronger than the 1080 ti. I was going to wait but I decided to buy an Asus rog strix gtx 1080ti oc and I'm happy with my purchase. You won't see the 1180 ti until next year around July.

Buy when you need it. Do you need it now, because you really want to start gaming and have fun? No point waiting, unless it's like 1-2 months for sure.

 

But right now, it can be 2-3 months, or 6+ months (Nvidia has no rush. Pascal > Vega, there is no danger). Can you wait that? If yes, then i don't think you would be asking^^

 

There is always something coming up.

Ask yourself, is the Time gaming from now untill the new release is worth just getting it?

Nvidia generally launches cards around the summer or spring so it is possible to see them maybe by august but I don't expect them until next april.

Thats what I was thinking. I'd like to wait for the next ti. It'll probably be more than a year.

 

i had 2 1080 ti's but sold one. I don't know if I want to add another one back in, or wait until the next ti. 

 

It it will be a long time before 1080 ti's in SLI will get beat.
