Yes, you can use it as a storage drive - I recommend backing up all your important files, then formatting the old HDD to give it a fresh start. You won't be able to run most programs from it though, as they need to be properly installed into the Windows registry in order to be licensed and run properly, so those you will have to re-install. There are ways to move your Steam Library, and Battle.net games from drive to drive though, since the game launchers will detect the downloaded game data if you point them to the location of it.

Desktop: KiRaShi-Intel-2022 (i5-12600K, RTX2060) Mobile: OnePlus 5T | Koodo - 75GB Data + Data Rollover for $45/month
Laptop: Dell XPS 15 9560 (the real 15" MacBook Pro that Apple didn't make) Tablet: iPad Mini 5 | Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 10.1
Camera: Canon M6 Mark II | Canon Rebel T1i (500D) | Canon SX280 | Panasonic TS20D Music: Spotify Premium (CIRCA '08)

  • What internet package do you currently pay for?
  • Do you have a combo modem / router from your ISP?
  • Do you also have a 3rd party router providing wireless / routing in your home?
    • Please provide model numbers of all networking equipment.

  • Are you connected via wired ethernet or wireless?
    • If wireless, are you connected to the 2.4G or 5G SSID / network name?
    • How many devices connect wirelessly in your home?
    • What is the size of your home in sqft, and is it 2 story?
    • Do you have a basement and use your computer there?
    • How far away from the modem are you when you experience the slow speeds?
      • Are there multiple walls or floors between you and the router?
      • What about large appliances in the home?
      • Do you have brick walls, fireplaces, or large glass furniture or mirrors anywhere?
      • Do you have a fish tank, and where is it located in relation to the router?
  • Are other devices on the network slow as well, or just your computer?
    • Please run a fast.com and speetest.net test for us, and state / link the results below.
