Do multiple RAM sticks affect performance?

You get better performance based on how many channels your motherboard has.

 

For a dual channel board you want two modules for best performance.

 

For a quad channel board you want 4 modules.

So I am looking around for RAM modules and I cannot find a cheap option for my setup, the best option  would be to bit multiple sticks, each at a lower capacity though I am not sure if it will impact my performance if I use multiple sticks or if I should buy one stick with the capacity of 2 or 4?

 

Does the number of RAM modules affect computer performance? ...And by this I mean if you bought the same capacity, same speed, same design(ish) type ram... I want the best option to run with overall and I am not sure if it would even make a difference...

I don't really feel that this answered my question... I am wondering if the number of modules affects the performance, and he didn't really say much about that, if anything... Though it may not be a big issue due to the speed..

Are you on Ryzen? Intel cares less about RAM while ram of higher speeds can give noticeable performance increase to Ryzen. Not sure about multiple sticks though, I am just as interested as you are to find out. If no one can find or has test results, i will do my own test.
