Open diskmanager.

What is your active partition?

Where is C partition located?

Where is bootloader located?

Both should be at same drive.

Already tried to format both drives via a live CD and then install Windows again with only 1 SSD connected to your PC?

I'm not to tech savvy, hopefully this answers some questions,  no I haven't tried reinstalling windows with only the drive in I hope I don't have to do that again, I didn't even know there was a problem until I tried to remove the old ssd 5ab7cefebe9fb_diskz.thumb.png.e875374e6ebf22a1565ba12ff5e2e1cf.png

As i had thought. I have modified your picture a bit to explain.

Your first drive contains the boatloader which is necressary for the BIOS to know where the opperating system is located (even if this is at another drive). This is why your computer won't boot with the first drive removed. The safest way to fix this is format both drives and then reinstall Windows again with only 1 drive connected to the PC.

Edit: This can work just fine thought but rightclick at the "unused space" partition and create another partition so you can store data at it. This however can give problems later when 1 of the drives fails, you got double chance of failure this way.
