Looking at HP Omen X gaming laptops and found two with similar/identical specs but the model names are different.. can anyone help me in figuring out what the differences are, if any?

You will probably find that PCWorld's part number is an internal part number, not HP's

But GO HP. DO NOT GO PCWORLD. If you ever have a problem they have the worst imaginable customer service ever. Plus its cheaper there :)

Bow down to me humans.

I can't help if you don't quote me. How am I supposed to know if you need my premium support? Now starting at £399.99 a year.

Also, be a sport and mark the correct answer as the correct answer. It will help pour souls in the future when they are stuck and need guidance.

Thank you for your quick reply! .. That would make sense.. am I right in saying spec wise they're the exact same?.. I notice it comes with a 3 year care plan from HP directly too.. may be worth buying from HP :)

First, why Omen 17? There are better options with better build quality and cooling. Not saying build quality and cooling of Omen 17 is bad but, they are just OKish.

Your welcome! Spec wise they are identical.

I like the Omen from what I've read about them.. the mechanical keyboard, customisable LEDs and the pre-loaded software that offers easy overclocking if ever needed..

Don't get me wrong, I've read up on the Alienware 17 R4, ASUS ROG Strix etc but for me I prefer the Omen.. unless there are any others you can suggest I look at? :)

Sure, but first could you provide some links of online stores in your country?

All with 1080 GPU:

Clevo P775TM, P870TM (3XS LG17 Carbon Extreme, PCSPECIALIST Octane IV, Novatech Elite N1780, XMG Zenith 17) with desktop CPU and MXM GPU, need liquid metal paste and maybe delid

MSI GT75VR, GT73VR, GT73eVR

Alienware 17

Acer Predator 17X - may need repaste, slight throttling and slightly high inner temps under load (fan noise and surface temps are decent)

Keep in mind that 7820HK needs decent cooling to outperform 7700HQ. Also, i5 8400 is faster than 7700HQ.
