I was wondering what the difference between the different kinds of o-rings are. On a website I’ve seen different hardnesses from 40A up to 70A and I was wondering which hardness would dampen the sound the most. I have a MX Blue switch keyboard and it’s becoming a little too clicky for me so I wanted to find out which hardness would reduce the sound the most out of the bunch.

Thanks.

O-rings dampen out the bottom out noise only. They will do nothing for the blues internal click.

Do the hardnesses make a difference on the sound? I’m fine with the internal noise but the bottom out noise is annoying at times since I put a lot of force when I’m typing.

Not much. Softer ones will be quieter but the difference is minimal. It's mostly the feel that changes. Softer rings feel mushier that hard ones. All rings you will get reduced total key travel.
