Alright mates, here I am again, asking for help.

I've built this PC for my little brother about 2 years ago, so he can do school work and play some CS:Go.

It's not a beast, but it does the job... or did until recently.

CPU: AMD FX 4320

GPU: AMD Radeon R7 250X OC

RAM: Samsung DDR3 2x8GB 1600MHz

HDD: Hitachi 500GB 64MB 7200RPM

PSU: LC Power 500W

Windows 10 Pro

Nothing overclocked, factory settings on all components.

As the title says, it restarts randomly. Sometimes it happens twice a day, then it works fine for a whole week, and restarts again.

The weird thing is that it doesn't restart when in full load, but while doing simple tasks, like working in Word or watching YouTube videos.

I have updated the BIOS, updated the drivers.

Checked the voltages - they seem fine.

Cleaned system junk, malware and registry issues.

Ran an AIDA64 stress test on all components.

As far as my software knowledge goes, it all seems fine, yet the PC keeps having random restarts.

Any ideas on what to do?

Time to take a look at the motherboard. any caps/elkos near blowing up, or leaking...

With this kind of old hardware, well it's like with us humans... we nap more often or get train of thoughts derailing mid conversation...

what was I talking about?

On the Road: Acer Aspire 5 Model A515-51G-54FD, Intel Core i5 7200U, 8 GB DDR4 Ram, 120 GB SSD, 1 TB SSD, Intel CPU GFX and Nvidia MX 150, Full HD IPS display

(Abit Fatal1ty FP9 IN SLI, C2Duo E8400, 6 GB Ram DDR2 800, far too less diskspace, Gainward Phantom 560 GTX broken need fixing)

Here's the regular PSU question: Checked your PSU? I think it might have a brain fart at some times. Friend of mine had the same problem. Turned out his PSU kinda blew itself.

Check Windows event logger too. It might tell you a bit more :)

Never heard of that PSU before. Found out that it's one of the cheapest PSUs I could find LOL. Yeah I think it's the cheap chinese PSU giving up.

CPU: AMD 3800X GPU: GTX 1080 Ti RAM: (16GB) 2x Corsair 8gb DDR4 3200Mhz Drives: SanDisk 240GB SSD, Samsung 500GB SSD, WD 1TB HDD

Motherboard: MSI X470 Gaming pro plus PSU: Gigabyte 650 watt Monitor(s): 27 inch AOC 1440p
