Recently I came over this quad socket motherboard.

Which has support for 4 Xeon e-7 8890 chips 

 

A few months later Linus makes a video on a dual socket motherboard by ASUS 

i wonder what are the possibilities that you could you come up withs to have more cores. 

Not that I am rushing out to buy a system like this but think it would be good if Linus could break his 7000k + record on vine bench

super micro has servers with several cpu cards which allow up to 224 cores in one machine

 

so yeah it's easy as hell to beat a 7000 on cinebench , but you'll need a few hundred k $ to do it
