If I install apps such as google, photoshop, steam etc. on an ssd would it open faster?

Depends on what you plan to install on it. I've recently purchased a 1TB SSD to be used as a game drive and have less than 400gb remaining.

For normal home usage or even for some pro usage, it is more than enough.

The sky can be black and gray, and grass can be dried out and yellowish, but granted I'm just playing devil's advocate here.
