I currently have the Thermaltake View 71 case, with 2 140mm riing plus fans in the front, and 1 140mm riing plus fan in the back. I aslo have a top-mounted AIO riing plus from thermaltake. My question is, if I add additional fans without a radiator above the drive bays like they have pictured in the side-mount AIO, will I receive any cooling benefits? I have money to drain and I want my comp to look cooler, don't judge :D.

Sort of like the side fans on this pic, but w/o liquid cooling & radiator:

Thanks in advance!

I'm sure you will see some cooling benefits, but they would most likely be extremely minimal. IMO definitely not worth what you would be paying for those fans.

Also, you would have either very positive or very negative airflow, depending on whether they were intake or exhaust.

No it wouldn't help.

The fans will divert the airflow and create more turbulence and could potentially increase temps ever so slightly. They won't be drawing any cool air in since they're internal but in an ideal world they could streamline airflow if they were blowing towards the back.

If it's just for looks, the temps shouldn't matter much as the difference is minimal anyway. Have fun!

A single fan pack of these is $30 http://ttpremium.com/product/riing-plus-12-rgb-radiator-fan-tt-premium-edition-single-fan-pack/

Wouldn't hurt, would it?

Just for looks sure. But you aren't going to see anything performance wise unless they are used with rad. Drives won't go much over 50-60C anyway.
