Router Freezes During Boot

2G_Tony

So last night I used Putty and a USB to TTL (or whatever it's called) to flash my router because it was bricked. Afterwards I had to install DDWRT because stock firmware wasn't working properly. And of course, me being the idiot I am, decided to overclock for no reason. So now it's bricked once again and it's freezes after reaching the DDR clock info.

I've tried a shit ton of solutions from 30-30-30 to SSH/Telnet (which doesn't work since I can't connect to it long enough to reset the nvram).

So if anyone could save my day from going and spending $200 on a new router I'd love you forever and probably PayPal you $20.

what model of router is it?

on some models, erasing NVRAM will just brick it.

but you can try:

Power off the unit.

Press and hold on to the WPS button.

While holding down the WPS button, power on the unit.

Keep holding the WPS button until the power led starts to blink a few times.

When the power led starts blinking / flashing, release the WPS button.

otherwise its fucked

That's what I'm guessing. I'll ask around on the Netgear and DDWRT forums and hopefully we can figure something out.

Ouch. quite the expensive router to lose.

I hope you can fix it though. My cousin has this same router and I'd be too scared to mess with it due to the price they got it at.

Else, see if it's under warranty still and try to RMA it?

I got it for $50 because my friend upgraded and didn't want to go through the hassle of selling it for a different price. But it's too old to be under warranty, even if I didn't have KONG installed on it.
