Enabling HT on i5

If you check any "What is HT" on yt you will see that it is just a manipulation of the cpu, and it can't be lasered off like cores. My question is if we can enable HT on i5 cpus.

Don't write any useless comments like "you will just brick the cpu" or "buy an i7 if u want HT you fu..ing pirate!"

It's not possible. It's a microcode thing. It identifies itself to the world as an i5, and there's nothing you can do about that. You can't reprogram a CPU.

Not 100% sure but intel could be physically disabling the HT silicon (e.g. by lasering it off). Or it could just be a microcode thing, which would still be a pain to get around.
