If you were on a laptop you would use more of your battery. On a desktop? No. Power bill might be a few cents higher a month. Dat's about it. :)

As far as helping. Really depends on the chip/OS. Win/7BF4/unparking the I7 has helped a lot of people out and helped with stuttering. Supposedly win 8.1 is already "unparked" which would explain why if I search "win 8.1 battery usage" in google...

I get that. Quite the shenanigans by EA and Microsoft eh? :)

They have to get us to buy that POS OS somehow I guess...

Is this benefial for gamming?

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=unparking

Could I run in some problem if i decide to do it?

If im not mistaken this is why you overclock your cpu if you have a 46 multiplier then you can also set you min and max so your min could be 40 and your max 46 this way your lowest speed is 4 gigahertz and ramps up to 4.6  under load so no matter what you should be running better then stock.

With an I5 nothing should be hindering performance as far as unparking. It is more of a I7 problem with BF4. When you unpark cores on a I7 in Windows 7? You slaughter the I5 in performance. When you don't? The I5 is faster. This leads people to say "disable hyperthreading" (lol no).  Win 8.1 seems to have kicked parking to the curb all together, which leads to a placebo effect and morons saying 8.1 is vastly superior for gaming, when it is based on the same kernel as 8.

If this is about BF4? Net Framework might be giving you issues on the I5. You could upgrade to win 8.1 but then you will have problems in other games and the performance is damn near the same if you have a clean system.

One other possibility. Skype is FUBAR atm. If you check out their forums, many people are having skype consume 100 percent CPU load and have to revert to an older version. I don't know wtf Microsoft is pulling with skype right now, but just throwing it out there. I had to downgrade to an older version on a brand new Windows install. My HD was accessing like crazy and my computer grounded to a halt. The new Skype is the worst computer virus I have ever seen...Who knows maybe they are using our computers to power their stupid cloud or something lol. I wouldn't put anything past M$.

Linked as the whole damn support forum is covered with spam atm on the first 5 or 6 pages. Somehow those stay up and my post with alternatives to skype was instantly deleted. Oh M$ you so crazy.
