i've never seen that pop up, mine just does it's thing. I have no idea how but i guess you can disable the pop up.

Then disable the popups in windows settings? I have never seen a windows 10 popup on my machine, except when i had windows 8 and the upgrade to win10 popup came up.

If only you updated your version of Windows this decade, it would not show up, and work around you, instead of against you.

Stupid Windows. Why can it be like MS DOS. New version? Let me buy those darn floppies that will be broken by the time I get home thanks to the genius behind this design forcing me to buy it again!!!

 

But in all seriousness.

• Set your Active Hours in Windows
• Set your Maintenance schedule in Windows
• Let Windows update and do its stuff outside your Active Hours
• Enable "show a reminder when we're about to restart...." if it is not already
• You can set throttling if you want on the Windows Downloads

And you will not have these pop-ups, random restart on you, and so on.

Better evaluation. He clearly never wants to update his OS ever, and it is common that, for open source project "release" is really beta stage.A common trick to get people to participate in the project. So he needs something very stable, deeply tested, and reliable.

He needs what many companies uses for their back-end, but does not need direct support: CentOS (It is derived from RedHat Enterprise)
