At the end of last year i got a 2TB Seagate hardrive to put all my steam games on as i only had a 240gb SSD. When i first got the hardrive it worked fine speeds seemed good but once i put a couple games on it would slow down to a crawl and i don't know why it slows down i don't put heap of files/game on it its not full, currently i have used 182gbs of 1TB (i partitioned the drive) but even when it wasn't partioned it would just slow down. I have reformated it three times i think and it's just keeps happing. It's good for a while but once i install a couple games and my steam library it just so slow if anyone could help it would be much appreciated

how full is it? From the looks of it, its like 850gb or so used.... Hard drives generally slow down in performance over 50% used for mechanical drives... I think its time for you to upgrade to a 2 or 3 tb drive.

Those speeds are abnormally low like USB2.0 or something. Might want to reinstall your SATA controller driver?

How do i go about doing that, do i go through device managewr or is there a different way of doing it

Get the driver here in the "SATA AHCI/RAID" category. Choose whichever is for your OS.

That's strange. From what I remember rightclicking on the inf files and "Install" did the job but I'm not sure why they come in that form..
