Yet another "Recommend me a phone!" thread (ASUS hopefully?)

TerranTheMoose

All right, so the Note 4 has been good but it's about to force itself into retirement.

I love the Note, it's a 2560x1440 5.7" screen, so that's super preferable.

I'd love to get an ASUS ZenFone but from what I see, tons of them are GSM only, and they won't work with Verizon.

Are there any high quality ZenFones (Max or Deluxe preferably) that are 5.7" and will work with Verizon?

Other than that, things on the required list are

  • 5.7" (again)
  • headphone jack
  • not a bloated down POS Android kernal
  • able to change the battery myself

Thanks in advance.

The latest flagship with a removable battery is the LG v20, they also have a similarly powered G5, both a generation old.

Having a removable battery is really going to handicap you when it comes to picking a new phone. It's not really something that's implemented. Is there a reason you want it? Most phones last a day, and there are quick charge power banks if you find you need to top up. Verizon certainly limits you, but you can use www.willmyphonework.net to check if it'll work with specific devices.

Thanks for all the help and welcomes! The reason for removable battery is just that I want to be able to replace one that goes bad (after this happened to my HTC One M8 and then my first Note 4 battery, I learned that it's way way easier to deal with one that has a removable battery). I'll give the V20 a look as well as willmyphonework.net, and see if those help out. Thanks again!
