High Temps for i7 8700 non k (even with 240mm cooler)

Hi so i recently got AFTERSHOCKPC(custom pc builder in SIngapore) to build for me the following specs. I noticed even with a sever undervolt to 1.170V on the VCORE and 90W Limit that i had set to the cpu, it still heat 76c in 10min of stress testing. When i brought it back to them they told me that coffee lake is really hot compared to the previous gen and adviced me to upgrade the cooler from 120mm to 240mm but to no avail. Had already reapplied thermal paste and checked that the fans were spinning. Any advice from you experts?

SPECS:

i7 8700

AFTERSHOCK GLACIER 240MM liquid cooler

16GB ADATA 2433MHZ DDR4

ZOTAC GTX 1070Ti 8GB GDDR5

SAMSUNG 850 EVO 500GB

SAMSUNG 850 EVO PRO 512GB

KLEVV 120GB M.2 SSD(boot drive)

EVGA 450W 80+Bronze PSU

Total of 8 fans in the pc

Havent heard of this cooler brand at all

These guys must be stupid monkeys. 450W PSU powering 8700 and 1070ti, that's bullshit. 550w minimum for these, 650w recommended.

Also, water coolers aren't the most trust worthy unless you do it yourself. Just get an air cooler.

1. I can't even find that cooler on the internet

2. Did you tighten it down enought? had that problem with my H100i v2 so it only made contact with half my CPU

3. Under stress testing, as ♠FlamieMeister♠ already said, such temperatures are ok

Then maybe you should ask about it, saying that you think the psu isn't enough for the PC. Honestly though hearing horror stories of shitty shop keepers and shops in Singapore from a few friends you might be safer just getting a new psu.

Anyway I'd go and talk to them about it if it's a big company and see if you can't get a better psu.

Assuming it's actually a Cooler Master Glacer, then the cooler itself isnt weak. Probably a more aggressive fan profile will do.

it's not bad at all, it will probably get nowhere near that temp in day to day tasks and gaming...come back and worry if it reach 90c under normal use.
