Asus Rampage VI No response to Power Button

Hi there,

 

I have been having issues getting my Rampage to power on due to it not responding to any power button.

The motherboard will light up indicating it has power but will not respond to the power button .

The front panel power on does not work, i have tried jumping it with a screwdriver to no avail. The motherboard itself does have a power button integrated but that also does not respond.

The motherboard worked yesterday, but upon booting it this morning it has this issue.

 

CPU: Intel 7900x

Mobo: Asus Rampage VI Apex

Ram: 16GB Ballistix Elite 2666mhz DDR4

PSU: Corsair RM850 850w

GPU: Nvidia 660ti / Nvidia 1080ti

 

I have check all conections, I have unplugged every connector and put them back one by one to check, i have tried a different GPU and PSU.

The motherboard will light up indicating it has power but will not respond to the power button.

 

All these components are brand new.

As previously stated it worked yesterday when i tested all the components.

Two things I would check:

Try booting with one DIMM.

If that doesn't work, make sure you did not damage the socket when you were placing the CPU.

Are standoffs installed properly? You sure you didn't short it?

I have tried that, and have checked the socket. If i had damaged it it would not have worked yesterday.

I have checked for a short and haven't seen anything that stands out.

Connect everything out, on top of the mobo box with minimal configuration.

Right i have just hauled the motherboard out and connected it to a spare psu, still nothing.

Oh then my bet is on the dead motherboard. Nothing weird with Asus.
