Occasionally I’ll get system hangs that started after I cloned to ssd from hard disk. I deleted the cloning software after it was done but I still get the hangs when I open chrome or go through steam, never happens in game or on anything else really. I never had this problem on hard disk. Could it possibly be my cpu is unable to handle the amount of throughput the ssd is trying to put out? My cpu is i5 6402p, although I feel it’s unlikely that’s the issue. I could run hwinfo and log it to find out, but other than a fresh install (which I’m considering at this point) do you have any suggestions?

edit: I’ve had it installed for a couple months and the hangs are infrequent and seemingly random

You could troubleshoot the hang with log files, etc, but if you are willing to do the reinstall then that is the easiest way.

How would I troubleshoot with log files? If I could fix it like that I’d want to try that. Although I’d probably do the fresh install anyway, it would just be nice to know how to fix it should it persist or use that information to troubleshoot when my friends ask for my help.

Here is some good basic information.  Note - this is starting a deep dive into the back workings of windows, and often the results of lots of research and digging is, " yeah, just reinstall".  Or worse "looks like a hardware problem" .  But if you want to know what is going on when the system hangs this would be a start.
