So Microsoft just bricked my Windows after an update, so I have to reinstall windows. I thought this would be a convenient time to get a new SSD for my fresh install so...

I currently have a 100gb 850 evo, and an 256gb 850 pro I purchased when the same thing happened a few years back, and I also needed more space. So to keep with tradition its time for another upgrade.

So since I purchased those SSDs a few years ago, have any new SSDs with performance greater than what I have now come out? I plan on getting either 256gb or 500gb depending on pricing.

I will use the dive for storing some games, a bunch of software (Adobe, Music Production stuff, etc). Budget is around, preferably less than $200. I live in USA. Any suggestions?

an MX500 performs about the same as an 850 evo and is cheaper, can try that.
