So I put together a system a few months ago so I could ascend to the level of pc master race. I had worked on some old pcs and even built a system for my parents so I felt fairly confident about this.

I built an A10-6800K with g skill 2133 memory and a 1tb toshiba 7200 rpm drive. Overtime I bought an Antec Kuhler 620, lg blu ray drive, and a card reader to fit in my fractal design core 1000 (seeing the budget?).

Evrything was working fir three months. Last night I found a 580 at Micro Center for $180 so I jumped at the chance. I knew my corsair 430m psu wouldn't be able to power the card so I picked up an EVGA 500b. Went home hooked everything up and no post. Fans running but screen is black. Checked all connectors. Tried a different monitor. Took everything apart. Remembered to disable the onboard graphics and I got it running. Turned it off to screw everything in place and got nothing when I tried to boot it again. Thought I might have shorted out the board so got a new one and breadboxed it today with just the cpu, stock heatsink, cpu power, and motherboard power. Tried it with both psu, a vga monitor, and a dvi monitor and nothing. Triple checked every connection and can't find out what's going on.

Any help?

Bent pins on the CPU possibly?

If that's the case then I recommend using a old credit card that you're not using and gently slide it between the pins to align them back.

Wanna hang out with me and people like @Theslsamg, @ Ssoele, @BENTHEREN, @Lanoi, @Whiskers, @_ASSASSIN_, @Looney, @WunderWuffle, and @nsyedhasan. Well.... Check out: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/48484-unofficial-linustechtips-teamschnitzel-server-teamspeak/

They might have gotten bent before you even put it in the board. Im not saying this is definitely the cause but I'd say it's worth checking.
