Hey all!  :D

I am currently planning my first, build, as the title reveals. I have a budget of about 1000 USD, but let's get to the parts:

CPU: AMD FX 8320

GPU: AMD R9 270X
PSU: Corsair CX600M

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8 GB (4 x 2)

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache

SSD: Samsung 840 Evo  120 GB

MB: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P
Case: Anything under 100 USD

OS: Windows 8

Please tell me what you think; I am open to criticism!
If there is any more information you would like, please ask.

Cheers!  :P

Is windows part of the budget? I would get it "the other way" and then spend some more money on hardware :) maybe a 280x?

What's the system being used for?

There's no point getting the 270x over the 270.

CPU: AMD FX 8320 Good, 6300 is also good option

GPU: AMD R9 270X 270 or 7870, i saw MSI one go for like 150$ (pcpartpicker.com)
PSU: Corsair CX600M you can also get like 550 xfx if its similar price, or maybe discounted seasonic ones

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8 GB (4 x 2) just get cheapest ddr3 8gb 1600+  cl9 ram that fit your needs, again pcpartpicker

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache allright

SSD: Samsung 840 Evo  120 GB great

MB: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P it will work, but overclocking 8 core processor on this mobo is not advisable. gigabyte 970 ud3 is good or 990 boards
Case: Anything under 100 USD well, you dont need to spend so much, most popular choices are Nzxt source 210, haf 912, R4 each in their own price category

OS: Windows 8 we allready have steamOS :))

Not sure i would feel to comfortable about putting an 8320 on the motherboard.

I would not try that board. I would go with (and I did) a 990fx.

Why not?

Why not?

because i can count phases on one hand :) 4+1 may be enough for intel but for 8 core OC amd, no. Thats why i only recommend asus mobos and gigabyte mobos for AMD builds. Cheap and reliable.

Also, nice site, but its not very well updated: http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database

for example ds3p is heatsinked (OP choice), while ds3 is not

You don't need more than 4+1 for a decent oc.

The DS3P isn't on the list.

The 8 core AMD's cause the board to get very hot. The northdridge and VRM's need all the cooling they can get and a lot of people are having problems with the CPU's throttling back even on the 990 boards.

If you want the 8 cores give it every chance to work as it should. You will need a high airflow case as well.

Nothing to see here - move along.

You can easily push it to 4.6, even on this board, but i dont take any responsibility for recommending the board. Problem is reliability/durability and stability, not overclocking potential.

Thats why i said list is not updated. Ds3p is heatsinked. Ds3 that is on the list isnt.

You have to look at picture to see what features it has.

This looks pretty good :D

Because of weird exchange rates and 25% tax on pc parts in the country I live in, the price can't be exactly estimated, but thanks for all the good recommendations!

Why shop in the US if you're in another country? Where are you located?

Sweden... I'm not actually shopping in the US, but I put my budget in USD to make it easy. :P

Are there any specific shops you prefer to shop from?

@WoodenMarker

Sorry, forgot that one time :P

The shop I use is usually is:

This site is in Swedish however, but with Google's built in translation it should not.be a problem :D

The site doesn't use dollars. What's your actual budget?
