If you're having trouble grasping why this is impractical, let's put this in another concept. Something super dumbed down but should explain it: Take an arbitrary image. Any image file. Now shrink it down to 2x2 pixels using any algorithm of choice.

 

Now tell your friends to figure out what the original image is.

I have no idea.. thing is whatever was used to make the encrypt needs to be used to the decrypt. This is my understanding.

I will admit my knowledge is quite limited on this specific thing.
