I'm new to the LTT forums but I just wanted to see everyone's opinions on my first pc build. (and I know everyone has different opinions on aios and air coolers, but I'm just doing an aio because it takes up less space, and looks better than a huge air cooler in my opinion)

you don't need thermal paste, cooler should have some already. try this for the psu, more than enough wattage, cheaper and more efficient.

get a cheaper fan too, $32 is abit much.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Ok so no thermal paste, cheaper/ less volt but higher 80 plus rating psu, and cheaper fans. got it. also if i'm planning on overclocking(4.6-5ghz) will that drastically increase the power consumption?

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/intel-coffee-lake-core-i5-8600k-cpu,5264-11.html not much, you'll be fine.

Perfectly fine build, I don't care much for your choice of thermal paste but in 95% of cases these days that is just preference. That ram is wildly overpriced but if you want the RGB I guess it's worth it to you. Overclocking will increase power consumption but normal builds these days use so little power I doubt even overclocked you will break 400 watts from the wall.

Your graphics card is pretty much going to be touching the front fans in the Meshify C. Something like 3 mm of clearance. A little bit tight in my opinion, but if you know it works, should be okay.

Edit: it fits fine

Where on earth are you getting a 1080 for $550?

The i7 8700 > 8600K any day, hyperthreading will be far more useful than a bit more fps in games.

You can also install windows for free straight from microsoft

You also aren't going to need extra fans

Did you actually buy the parts that say purchased?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Yes and the 1080 is just a placeholder for the Nvidia Fe 1080 if it ever gets back in stock

Then I would highly suggest you just buy a Ryzen APU system for the time being, and get pretty alright 1080p gaming performance on the cheap

So you haven't bought anything in that list?
