Low GPU Usage

Jhamez

To start off, I started up my PC yesterday and finally got round to fixing my audio through downloading new audio drivers. I then realized I had a Virus looking thing so I got the malware bytes free trail to getrid of that (No idea if this has anything to do with my problem. I finally got round to playing pubg and my fps is half what it normally is, 70fps. I play on settings I saw shroud use once which is everything low except Textures and Anti aliasing on high. This I feel makes the game easier to play and more importantly allows me to use my 144hz monitor. I normally play at an average of 130-144fps (Vertical sync). I check my GPU usage and is anywhere between 40-60%. What is also strange I would like to add is the fact in the main menu my GPU's usage is at 70% stable, higher than it ever gets while I play.

Things I have tried

Installing new GPU drivers

Increasing settings ingame to see if I can get the GPU usage higher

Restarting game and pc.

Specs

CPU - I7 7700k

GPU - 1070ti Msi Gaming x

Mobo - H270 Msi (Yes I know its non overclock able, I used to have a non k cpu but due to things had a change to upgrade for $15 dollars completely forgetting about my mobo )

RAM - 16 GB of some sort of ram

PUBG is broken as shit, use a stable benchmarking program or stable game to look at GPU usage. Your computer will also only need use the amount of GPU that it needs.

Agreed. Unigine Heaven is a good + free to download benchmark to use. PUBG is really bad.

The thing is it was not always like this. I used to play pubg at 144fps on my 144hz monitor but now the GPU usage dropped with not pubg update in between and how I play with 70fps on my 144hz screen.
