Ryzen 1700X issue

this is my first post in this Forum, and my native language isn't english, so I hope I'm not doing everything wrong on the first try here.. ;-).

 

I just bought new hardware
MB-B350 tomahawk

CPU-Ryzen 1700X
GPU 1060 6gb strix
Ram: Corsair Vegenance 2x 8gb 3000mhz

My problem is that when i plug GPU into first pcie slot it didnt work and the CPU light is on (red diods). When i plug into second slot it works. I changed GPU 3 times MB 3 times and still didnt work.

Tomahawk has 4 ez-debug LEDs. Which of them is the one on? There is one above the CPU socket and 3 above the ATX-power connector (big one).

 

Keep in mind that initialization on Ryzen can take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes.

Since the board is new, I'd suggest you run the GPU on the second slot while you update the BIOS and see if that solves the issue.

 

Are you overclocking anything?

If the CPU ez-debug LED is on it's not a stable overclock.

Reset to defaults, plug the GPU back into the first slot and see if it works.

I can't think of any reason why the BIOS update would fail.

Either the board was faulty to begin with or you're breaking it somehow

I have a Mortar Arctic (nearly identical only it's mATX instead of ATX). If you're getting a CPU debug LED, then it's something to do with the GPU. Based on what you're saying, a faulty PCIE slot is the most likely issue. I used to have that issue when trying to boot without a GPU (only was doing it to see if hardware worked, I didn't have my GPU at the time)

But i tested 2 different motherboards  two piece b350 tomahawk and one b350 plus. One claim recognized but one no

Oh... i am idiot. I am not sure now if its CPU lights on or VGA but i think it VGA
