Is there a good alternative to Google Chrome other than Firefox (doesn't handle multiple tabs well), IE (crashes alot), Opera (A bit slow, might try it one more time), Maxthon (nice interface but slow), SlimBrowser, Safari, Flock, Rockmelt, Avant, Netscape, Flock, Deepnet, SparkBrowser (not out yet still waiting), Yandex (faster than chrome but start's slowing with more tabs open), Comodo. I'm trying to get away from Google Chrome and starting with their web browser might be the easier one. Any suggestions on a fast, good design, minimalistic looking web browser other than those listed?

Why would you want to get away from Chrome?

Because of Google. What they are doing and the privacy they give you.

I guess we should all get off of Earth then because of the NSA :P

On a serious note, if privacy is what you're worried about, try Chromium. It's the open-source browser Chrome is built on.

I had that once. The fact is that I don't trust anything from Google anymore really. Have you read their privacy policy? Using Google is like saying "here's my text messages, my browsing history, here's my location, here's where I work, here's my mail you can read, etc" Google is a company that has such a large popularity and use in life that if and when they were to change something that people don't like Google doesn't make much of an effort to change it. There's people that know that Google pretty much knows everything about you but they still use Google because that's what their familiar with, what's popular, what works for them at the moment they need it. Google knows this and easily uses this against people by doing things that people would not prefer and there's nothing the user can do about it because Google is pretty much like "suck it up, it''s us or the highway." Google+ integration with YouTube is a great example.

Extensions.

Accidentally added yours to the above reply, anyway, are there any extensions that would make Google not track you in any way? After all you're using their web browser, their search engine.

Google Chrome Canary

Isn't Google Chrome Canary the same as Chrome, just a newer "in testing" version? If so it wouldn't change much in the fact that it's related to Google and they can still track you, etc

have you tried torch? also I'm starting to try some other browsers too

Torch seems to be more based around social media, that's what my phone is for. I don't need pretty much everything Torch is designed for.

You don't have to read Google's Privacy Policy to know that they are going to go through your information. I am sure they're not giving you all that free stuff out of the kindness of their heart... By using Google's services you agree to giving them all of your information. It's not like someone sits there and stocks you all day, it just goes through an automated system that gives you targeted ads. Another thing - even if you're not using Chrome, they're going to track you anyways.

Also, people need to shut up about the G+ comments on YouTube. Google doesn't have to give a damn what you think because you're not paying for it and you're going to use it despite your opinion.

After about 10 tabs I start to notice that switching tabs or scrolling in them starts becoming delayed and jittery. From what I know, this is part of the fact that Firefox handles most everything at once whereas Chrome handles each tab differently.

hmm, i have used firefox for years and have plenty of time on chrome and I have never noticed any delay when switching tab even when i have close to 60 tabs open.

+1 although I don't go crazy on tabs. 10 would be around the max I would get to.

Use www.StartPage.com if you want to move away from the google search engine. The best thing is it still uses google but startpage don't log IP addresses so it doesn't come back to you. The are bringing out a startpage email service too but it will be as paid service. Around $5/month is the expected cost. That's the problem with data mining. If you don't want it, you have to pay for it.
