Hi All,

I have been looking for a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Flash Drive for a while now and I have failed at my search.  Does anyone know of a legitimate USB 3.1 Gen 2 Flash Drive on the market?

FYI, I'm planning on installing Linux.  I have done this with a Gen 1 flash drive, but it bottlenecks at times.

Might I ask what exactly you’d need such a high speed drive for? Linux on a USB 3.0 drive was as fast as my SSD on the same machine (with the same pretty heavy usage).

Main System: Phobos

AMD Ryzen 7 2700 (8C/16T), ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 16GB G.SKILL Aegis DDR4 3000MHz, AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB (XFX), 960GB Crucial M500, 2TB Seagate BarraCuda, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations/macOS Catalina

Secondary System: York

Intel Core i7-2600 (4C/8T), ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3, 16GB GEIL Enhance Corsa DDR3 1600MHz, Zotac GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB, 240GB ADATA Ultimate SU650, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

Older File Server: Yet to be named

Intel Pentium 4 HT (1C/2T), Intel D865GBF, 3GB DDR 400MHz, ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB (HIS), 80GB WD Caviar, 320GB Hitachi Deskstar, Windows XP Pro SP3, Windows Server 2003 R2

What do I need the speed for?  In one sentence, I'm doing my masters in geospatial and artificial intelligence.  The second sentence would be, I'm sick of the IO bottlenecks.

I had considered a Samsungs Portable SSD T5, but I don't like the idea of something dangling down my leg (the cable, not something else) whilst I'm on the train.

The enclosures for the NVMe SSDs are too long for sitting on a train.  I'd be too concerned that if someone, large, was to sit next to me, they could break it.

So in short, I want the holy grail.  Small, fast and sexy.
