Slow upload speed on new computer.

I've just build a new PC with a MSI B350 Tomahawk Plus motherboard.

I have 100/100 internet. With my old pc i got the 100/100 speed but on my new computer i get 100 download but only 1 to 5 mbps upload.

I'm connected via ethernet in the same way my old pc was.

I've tried changing around the settings on the Realtek PCIe Family GBE controller like the speed and duplex (changed from auto to 100 full duplex) and it makes the upload speed go from 1 mbps to like 5-20mbps sometimes but it should be 100.

How are you checking the speed?

Via Steam, speedtest, something else?

 

Have you installed the drivers for the board from MSI? If not, install the latest available.

Did you install the MSI LAN tool? If so, try removing it.

I've checked the speed with different online speedtests like speedtest.net and bredbandskollen.se. The all state the same speed.

I've installed the latest drivers from MSI. Also tried downloading them directly from Realtek.

I've tried the MSI LAN tool but the speeds were the same wether it was installed or not. I currently don't have it installed.

EDIT 2: Also, the wi-fi speeds on my phone is 40/40, 70/70 when close to the router. Also had 100/100 on my old pc (that is now not working).

check your router settings

Don't set the connection speed manually on your NIC. It's not directly related to the speed you get form your ISP. The NIC supposed to negotiate the connection speed with the network equipment to get the highest achievable speed given the circumstances that both ends support.

 

I suggest you try a different cable.

I don't think my router has that setting. Also it worked fine on my old computer and the router settings hasn't been changed

Ok, but my speed does decrease by 10 - 20 mbp/s when settings it to auto, is there still a reason I should set it to auto?

It worked fine with the same cable on my old PC though, is there any settings with the NIC or PC you can change in hope of solving this?

Try setting it from Auto Negotiation to 1GB.

Just wanted to say I solved this by ordering an Intel PCIe network card, works perfectly now.
