So, Im building for an Office, a Ryzen 5 2400G System. It will have a SATA M.2 3D NAND SSD as storage and 8GB of DDR 4 3600 Memory in Dual Channel, but the thing that bugs me is the Motherboard. Will it run out-of-the-box on 300 Series of MoBos or will AMD release with Raven Ridge Desktop the 400 Series of MoBos?

Since it has to be preety cheap, because #Office I was looking at ASRocks B350 HDV mATX MotherBoard, but the question is, will the CPU run on it or will I have to wait?

Instead of going A320 which is cheaper, Im going  for an entry level B350 for the Overclocking capabilites since it was shown by AMD that APUs get up to 50% of a performance increase if you OC the CPU, the GPU and have fast RAM (hence 3600 RAM). (It will be a modest OC on the CPU only, just going to try get all the cores run on the max turbo frequency, which is 3.9 GHz, Im not going to try to push it up to 4-0 GHz and beyond as promised with this new generation of CPUs/APUs).

It will be all held inside of a Cooler Master N200 mATX Case and will use a 25 inch Acer QHD (2560x1440p) monitor.

Do I have to use B350 or B450 for right out of the box compatibility? When will B450 come out?

Where can I find MoBos with this sticker?:

It's not gonna run out of the box on a 300 series board, that will require a BIOS update. Most of the manufacturers have BIOS updates available to support Ryzen 2(at least ASRock does).

BUt righjt out of the gate? Its my first build all by myself, I want to make it as easy as possible. If it has one of those stickers, does it mean no update is needed? (AKA comes with an updated BIOS). Im also building very soon by myself too an A12 9800 Home Server PC

If it has that sticker you should be fine. To my knowledge none of them currently have it. If you're on the fence about it, I would say wait until B450 boards are out and get one then.

I want to do also in the near future an entry level 1440p Machine. With a R5 2600X (I like CUstom COoling) and a 2060/1160 or a 680/ Mainstream Vega Flagship

1440p takes quite some power to push, a 1060 6Gb is capable of 1440p but at some lower settings.

Thats why Im waiting for next gen, if current performance uplift continues, the 1160/2060 should be the equivalent of a GTX  1080. And the RX 580 8GB, can easily push 1440p on Ultra or High Settings for 60FPS. So its successor should be better too.

I think Ryzen 2 is coming in April...? Probably around then.

Probably around April. IIRC though mobo vendors pushed bios updates a few months ago to support raven ridge so most likely most mobos will work fine.

As a side note though, I would get a different mobo that has VRM heat sinks. I'm not sure if the VRM on those mobos is meant to handle the iGPU too well so I would get something a bit better (ab350m pro 4 maybe).

Yeah all the HDV boards don't have VRM heatsinks. Seeing as you can get a board like this that at least has some VRM heatsinks for a similar price I would go for this instead.

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/sfcMnQ/asrock-ab350m-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-ab350m

Preferably though you should go for something like these

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/xwM323/msi-b350-tomahawk-plus-atx-am4-motherboard-b350-tomahawk-plus

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/yBtWGX/asrock-ab350-pro4-atx-am4-motherboard-ab350-pro4

Because they have actual VRM heatsinks on all the VRMs. They are a bit more expensive though unless you're willing to deal with mail in rebates.

Yes, but the AB350-M doesnt have an HDMI output, whiuch is a must for the sake of God Loved Future-Proofness (or just lasting a a while)

You really doubt they can take the heat of a iGPU? (The non Heatsink VRM HDV Variants) I will try to OC, though...

Also, what is mail-in rebate? English isnt my first language, I dont uderstand the expression

Oh wow, I didn't realize that mobo doesn't even have any display outputs, my bad :D

TBH I think the HDV might be your best bet then. The CPU VRMs should be able to handle it since it is a quad core, I'm just not that certain about the GPU VRMs. If I had to guess though I don't think the GPU should draw that much power though, at least not enough to overheat the VRM.

Once you get the mobo you basically send in a form to the motherboard manufacturer and they send you back some money. However, I haven't heard the greatest things about it, with mobo manufacturers often not properly following it up.

Yep, these Build needs to be TCO sensitve, becasue it is for an Office. Do you think no VRM Heatsink can handle a small CPU OC?

Also, I need to make a confession, I have this "need" to make a build with an A12 9800. Probably going to be for my grandpa, since its going to be for an Excel/ YouTube use.

It should be fine, since it is a quad core. Usually it isn't too much of an issue unless you're pushing close to 1.4 v or using a 6 or 8 core.
