It should work. The fan looks like it is able to move up to accommodate taller memory. My question is, why are you buying such an expensive kit of RAM and such a cheap board? This G.Skill kit is cheaper and the same speed with tighter timings. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231900

I'd use the $30 saved by getting cheaper memory to get a better board if you're getting a CPU better than the 1500X.

I'm mainly looking at the ryzen 3 1300x, and I have a store nearby that has this ram kit on sale for like $110 brand new, this is just the link that has the product number. So I can check with you guys for compatibility, I just am not educated at all on ram and wanted to make sure it is compatible with the parts I already own (the motherboard and the cpu cooler).

Ah, cool. Then this makes more sense. I'd say the board and RAM are fine, though I'm not 100% sure if the RAM will run at the 3200 speeds with the 16-18-18-36 timings. Ryzen can be picky when it comes to that stuff. If the normal B350 Tomahawk is cheaper, it's a decent buy if you don't care about the little shroud over the rear I/O.

I actually bought the Plus version when it was on sale for cheaper than the normal board. I just also really like that ram and think it would look amazing. And I'm not too picky about speeds, I just want the thing to post and work because this is more of a secondary gaming computer so I can feel safe about taking it to lan parties and such. Also the main reason I am weary about this ram kit is because the specific number isn't said on the compatibility list on MSI's website.

It should POST fine, there's a lot of memory that isn't in the QVL that still boots. At the most, it would probably just boot at loose timings at 2133, and you can dial it in in the BIOS.

Yeah man I'm not too picky at all and if it gets slow to me like you said I can always dial it with bios. I just wanted to make sure I was using ram that my computer could still work off of. I just love the good balance of performance and aesthetics of the dom plats. And the cpu cooler shouldn't impair it at all? For dual channel in the tomahawk it is in the second and fourth slot.
