My Dilemma

Assuming that you have another area of the house where a phone line will remain intact and unaffected by the changes in the photo... Have you considered investing in a dual phone or tri phone combo where one phone has to be connected and the other phones can be wirelessly connected to the base of the main phone?

I actually haven't thought about that until now. I guess I would have to use the hub next to the modem, since it would be connected there. That would be easier than having to what I originally thought.

To my knowledge power line adapters are only for network use and cant be used for phone. Another option you can look in to is Moca, bonded moca adapters can do up to 800 Mbps. Compared to the slower speeds you will get on power line adapters.

Yeah, that diffidently seems like a better alternative than power line adapters.

Thank you both for your replies! I will look into these products. Once again, thanks a lot (I really needed an answer, so thanks!). :)

In one room I have my router, two modems, and outlets (seen in the picture). In another room, marked by the green circle, I have a phone that connects via a phone cord. Essentially I am using my Cat5E cable, that is built into my house for one phone line. I am currently using a wireless connection on my computer upstairs, I am able to get 300 mbps but I want to have a higher speed (1 gbps via Ethernet). I was planning on removing the phone cord, in exchange for an Ethernet cable (so I could put it into my computer and get higher speeds), but then I will not be able to use my phone. I have heard of something like a power line adapter for Ethernet, but I don't want to use it because it would leave me with around the speeds I already have.

These are my two questions:

1. I was wondering if there was a similar product but for a phone line.

2. I understand that people used to use phone lines for internet, so I was wondering if I could use a Ethernet power line adapter for the phone line.

Thanks in advance,

Scott

"The only thing that matters right now is that you're here, and you're safe."

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
