Creating wide video from two sources?

How would I look for information on combining two video stream into single wide video stream?

Similar to creating panaroma shots but with two cameras using live video.

I am not sure what this is even called or a correct term for this.

 

Sample application: Two cameras mounted in a car. One is angled to the left, other to the right. 

Each camera outputs video stream of their view. I want to combine both views creating a single stream with wider view.
