So I had just worked on my first PC build after about 3 months of heavy research on the parts and setup. I figured I was ready from here.

PC PART LIST: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/TheBreadBakery/saved/

The computer was nearly done. All I had to do was install windows 10 and both drivers. What a feat this would be if I had finally finished my build after such a long time, not to mention again my first! I plugged in the PC, turned it on, and watched as the RGB on the mobo lit up, all the necessary lights on it lit up, and the CPU fan turned on. The GPU fans however did not turn on, yet a small white LED lit up, leading me to believe that it SHOULD still work. I plugged in a DVI and was ready to start my new..... experience? No video had output to my monitor, regardless of what port I plugged it into. (GPU and MOBO.) After rechecking wiring, I was stumped, and went to the local best buy geek squad to get it checked out. After a few hours of testing, I came back with the results that either my MOBO pcle slots were busted, my GPU was a DOA, or my PSU was not strong enough. (I did try using a 800W bronze but nothing much changed.) We tried booting the PC only on the intel integrated graphics, yet even that didn't work, leading me to believe that even that could be a DOA.

long story short, I was unsuccessful with my first build, either to whatever POSSIBLE stupid error I had done, or just up TO 3 DOA PARTS. At this point I guess returning parts could be an option, then reordering some for trial #2. Yet is returning even an option? (all parts purchased trough amazon) I threw out my anti static bags that came with the GPU and MOBO, however I do still have the boxes, manuals, and accessories. Is returning something I should try doing at this point? Or is there another option.

---If anyone would like to look at my PC, I can still supply pictures at peoples demand.

Pictures of the internals of the system please.

PSU is definitely strong enough. Do the fans spin up then shut down, then spin up again or does the system just sit in one state with the fans spinning?

Have you tried booting off the iGPU without the GPU installed?

The CPU fans spin at a constant, they dont stop unless the system stops. The PSU fan does not spin, and the GPU fan starts spinning for a few seconds, then turns off. I can get pictures for you soon

To boot from the IGPU you need to take out the GPU, PSU is way enough unless it's some craptastic abomination. I'd guess GPU tbh

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

If the PSU fan isn't spinning, there's likely an issue with the PSU. It's normal on some PSUs that have a 0RPM feature (with EVGA, it's called ECO mode), but your PSU doesn't have that feature, so the fan should spin.

Are there any switches or toggle on the PSU other than the one on the back for turning it on/off?

(sorry for poor cables and lighting)

image 1 is just a full preview (minus SSD HD and PSU)

image 2 side view of gpu + cooler

image 3 is where a white LED would normally light up once the system is turned on, on the gpu

image 4 (a bit poor to see) is where a few MOBO lights would shine red and white upon turning the system on

My PSU has the option to swap between different voltages (trough some internal system) of 650 and 750. When I tried the self fan test (by plugging into outlet, then back into the PSU,) the psu did infact spin. As of what I know so far there is no toggle on the PSU for having the fan back on.

Yes I had removed it post picture

Do you have a friend with a computer that'll let you test your graphics card in their system?

I'd do that next.

If that's not it, I really think it's the motherboard in which case I'd contact the manufacturer and file for an RMA.

First things first, don't panic!

You bought new parts and none of your issues are due to physical damage. Your warranty will cover whatever's wrong.

If you do have to RMA the motherboard though, make sure to put the little cover back over the CPU socket. If you threw it away, go get it out of the trash right now. Mobo manufactures won't honor a warranty if you send it back without the socket cover. Be careful around the socket in general. Those pins are fragile.

Yeah, I definitely can get that GPU tested in another computer.

I guess the return of the MOBO with the socket in tact means I have to take the cpu out huh. Any easy way to do that? (+ cooler)

just the reverse steps of putting it in + cleaning off the thermal paste with high proof rubbing alcohol and something that doesn't leave fiber behind like a microfiber cloth or coffee filters.

Just be careful not to bend the pins in the motherboard socket.

In other words:

DON'T PULL A LINUS AND DROP IT! :P

Don't forget to take off the mounting posts and the backplate for whatever cooler you have either. You don't want to be giving that stuff you need away to your mobo manufacturer.

And again.

Most important thing is to remember to put that little black cover back over the CPU socket. It goes on over the outside after you close the latch without the CPU in there. It just clips in.

No motherboard manufacturer would honor an RMA if you forgot to do that that I know of.
