So I have about $500-$600 for a graphics card. I was going for a 1070 ti or a 1080 but prices are insane right now. I do have the ability to purchase a Titan X Maxwell for $635. Would that be worth it or wait for prices to come down. Currently running a GTX 960 4gb and it's killing me since I bought a 27in 1440p 144hz gsync monitor.

I don't think it's worth it as a 1070ti can easily outperform it

But how long will this GPU price hike last? I dont want to wait 6 months or more before i cant get a card at a normal price

You might just have to wait. What I did over the summer for a half-completed build was borrow a 950, but you could easily buy one from Ebay for cheap and sell it once the price of video cards drop. Just buy a branded one, since there's a massive scam going on, but there all unbranded and duplicated. A 750Ti, 760, 950 should all be about $85 or less.

I got lucky and purchased a used GTX 960 4gb off of Facebook for $50 and using that currently

Alright, you're all set. All you have to do now is watch for any good deals on cards as their prices do what they do. So just wait. (It's painful, I know).

If you can find a 980ti for around 300 that'd be a nice deal. The 980ti is equal to the 1070 in gaming.
