My mom just bought a Pixel 2 XL, brand new from Verizon with a little promo they were having. My mom is not tech savvy at all, and even she was noticing that it is taking absurdly long to charge.

The Pixel displays "Rapidly Charging" on the screen, however the estimated charging time from 10% to 100% is 8+ hours, and takes pretty much that entire time to charge. A modern smartphone should not still be charging after a normal night's sleep.

Yes, I have tried multiple different chargers, outlets, and car chargers, all of which are fast charge compatible, and they also quick charge my S8+.

Clearly this is an issue with the phone. Is there a setting or something that I am missing, or should I contact google support?

Just want to confirm one thing, is it super slow the whole time or is it just really slow, say, from 95-100%?

If it's super slow the whole time, contact Google/Verizon. If not, it's still not normal but I'm not sure if it's a huge deal.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Yeah it's slow the whole time. It was at 8% earlier today and we plugged it in in the car before we went on a half-hour drive and it only climbed to 10%. It's only a little over a week old as well.

Definitely not right at all. I would take it to a Verizon store since I'm not 100% sure if Google deals with the warranty if you buy it through Verizon.
