Its fine except that PSU is major overkill, unless you plan on buying more qaudro's/hard drives and need the upgrade space.

I would rather agree on what we share, than fight on what we don't. - Myself

What specific applications are you looking at?

Why 2x16gb RAM and not 4x8gb? You could also probably save some money on cheaper psu, case, ram, etc. and then get a better GPU

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

What programs are you referring to?

For better stability, you should go with a single ram kit instead of separate sticks that aren't guaranteed to work together.

The case is excessively large. A smaller case could be cheaper and provide more efficient cooling.

The psu is overkill. A good 600w would be plenty already.

I'd:

  • Get a TR cooler, not just some random one
  • Get a different RAM set up
  • I would get a more modern case
  • Your PSU is massive overkill

I'm looking at programs such as Adobe CC, blender, and Autocad

Out of those Autocad prefers single threaded performance, blender prefers multi, and Adobe is a bit of a mix. Do you do blender or autocad more? Depending on which, a 7900x or 1950x may be a better choice.

As well, after doing some research, it seems like a Quadro isn't really worth it for you. It definitely doesn't matter for Adobe and iirc not for blender either. Quadros only make a big difference in some CAD applications and from some quick searching it seems like AutoCAD is not a program that doesn't like GeForce cards.

Unfortunately, due to the RIDICULOUS pricing of GPUs right now thanks to miners (cards are about DOUBLE what they normally are) you're paying A LOT for a 1070, but it's still better than a P1000

I typically use Blender more. Also I might be able to get a GTX 1080 from a friend at a cheaper price since he's filthy rich anyway. Thanks for the advice!

Yeah looks better, though I'd try and get faster RAM. I'm pretty sure TR is like Ryzen and prefers higher speeds.

You can also get a liquid cooler. Enermax makes a really solid AIO for TR.

The 750D is still pretty old. I'd really try and get something with tempered glass if you want a window, acrylic has a tendency to scratch.

Do you only use cpu rendering? I ask because Blender can use multiple gpu for the task and generally renders faster when it does.

What sort of budget do you have for the the system, excluding peripherals.

Threadripper cpu support quad channel memory operation. For optimal performance one should use quad channel (i.e. 4 memory module) memory kits.

One should have sufficient ssd storage for all active projects and scratch needs. If budget permits, one might even consider an NVMe drive.

The Windows 10 OEM license does not permit use in a DIY build. One needs to buy a retail version.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

So if i can, I should use an NVMe m.2 drive instead of a traditional SSD

Only presuming there is budget available that would not be better spent elsewhere. An NVMe M.2 can offer a performance improvement in some tasks.
